Finally, I found an excuse to upgrade my blog software .. the annoying spammers. As I mentioned in my last blog entry, I had to enable comment filtering to stop the spammers but then I have to lose time to reject their comments. That is not good:(

A feature I love, and I am using it anywhere I need/can, is CAPTCHA ;) and my favorite package is: Simple captcha. A very nice Java library (a little bit tricky to configure under Linux, but is OK).

It took me 30 minutes to add captcha to Pebble and to modify a bit the jsp code that drives the UI. Simon, if you read this, please think about adding beanshell support to Pebble. I can survive with the pebble tags in JSP even though I cried for Velocity, but having script Actions instead of the simple Java Actions that Pebble is using, will be a very nice addition. Hmmm... what about a mini Pebble in JPublish??? Let me think about ;)

If everything is working as planned, I will disable the comment filtering and then all my readers (both of them;) will be able to comment as usual ... let's see.
